We’re back!
Bubba Gump Shrimp CO

So Thursday night we decided to visit Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.  A restaurant inspired by Forrest Gump the movie located just a few doors down from Trocadero. We really wanted to love this place since as we’re massive seafood lovers however it didn't quite live up to the hype.

Firstly when they took our name for the waiting list we had to pick a celeb name and Aisha being a fan quite happily chose Kim Kardashian with no hesitation lol, and the wait was about 5 mins which was perfect.

The menu looked amazing but I couldn't say the same for the food. Aisha had shrimp shack mac & cheese for starters which was honestly nice despite it wasn't as hot as it could be. I had crab stuffed mushrooms… the taste was there yet the portion size was a joke. They were tiny it almost looked like we ordered snails.

Main Course -  Aisha had shrimp heaven, a £19.50 meal which was a prawn dish, with 4 cone shaped platters and inside were the prawns. It looked great but as she took a closer inspection she was surprised to see that 90% of the cones were filled with cabbage and a few prawns on top. FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD! YES the prawns tasted pretty good however the portions was so disappointing I wouldn't recommend anyone to get it if they are looking to pig out.
I had Steamed Shellfish from Jenny’s Catch. A mixture of mussels, clams, lobster claws, shrimp and crab. It was served with garlic bread and rice but they kindly swapped the rice for mash. It was good but not better than the seafood at Big Easy. (Gotta be honest)

BUT……….

On the plus side the cocktails were incredible. We got to keep our cool cups that flashed ( BEST PART OF THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE ). Aisha got to keep her flashing cup and her cocktail shaker cup too.

Oh and lets not forget the service was 8.5/10. The staff were very helpful and nice especially Sofia!

Overall the food was decent (We would visit again but not anytime soon), but overpriced for the portion size. It was actually shocking especially since this is an American establishment famous for their large meals.  However we did enjoy the experience!
